A big thank you to Barclays bank who came into school on Tuesday 11th of October to take pupils through some work on coding. You might not know what coding is, but now our year 5 pupils do. Coding is the process of using computer language to build computer programs. They used a program called Scratch (this is free to download on the internet) to make a game using computer language. Barclays came into school last year to do this and the session was wonderful.
As well as learning about how to code, the pupils learnt about the important topic of internet safety. the class discussed topics such as chatting on the internet, use of mobile technology, downloads, online gaming and social networking. Please see the slides Barclays prepared for parents below.
